Gastrointestinal Oncology Overview

Excellence, Expertise & Compassionate Care

GI Clinic

Under the direction of Mokenge Malafa, MD, FACS, the GI Oncology team comprises board-certified, fellowship-trained physician/scientists, each having a high level of expertise in GI cancer. Due to Moffitt’s stature as an academic medical center, the physicians have dual appointments at the Cancer Center and the University of South Florida College of Medicine, one of the nation’s leading academic research centers.

Patient care, research and education are all important components of the GI Oncology Program mission. Patients can be confident that they will receive the most promising treatment possible at a leading specialized cancer center. Moffitt’s role as an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center provides patients with the opportunity to be among the first to receive advanced therapies not yet available at other facilities in the state.
