Tobacco Free Initiative

Moffitt Cancer Center Is Tobacco Free
As of April 1, 2008, Moffitt Cancer Center’s campus is 100-percent tobacco free. No smoking or tobacco use is allowed anywhere on Moffitt property, including all off-site areas.
Moffitt is committed to this initiative because of its mission, “to contribute to the prevention and cure of cancer,” and responsibility to provide a healthy environment for all patients, visitors and employees.
Any persons found smoking or using tobacco on Moffitt property after April 1 will be asked to extinguish their tobacco product(s) and will be given a tobacco-free business card with free hotline numbers for cessation program resources. Packets including more comprehensive resource information will also be available.
A full-time nurse practitioner will offer smoking cessation classes for interested parties at the Cancer Center and prescription pharmaceutical agents will be offered in Moffitt’s Pharmacy to assist in the cessation process.
